Staff accommodation at Japanese ski resorts varies by employer. Rooms can be shared or private, based on availability. Accommodation may be free or require a small rent, ensuring it stays within budget. You'll be conveniently located near a 4/5-star ski resort.

The entire process with Gate To Season costs €899, $899, or AUD 1499. Other currencies are accepted. Payments are made in two installments: half before the visa application and the remainder before the job interview. In some countries, a €30 visa fee may apply.

You are permitted to stay in Japan for one year from the date of your arrival.

Your arrival date at the staff accommodation will be coordinated with your employer, typically a few days before your job commencement for team introductions and training. You may also opt to arrive in Japan earlier to kick-start your adventure. We offer comprehensive guidance to ensure a seamless experience from day one.

The cost of living in Japan for a seasonal worker varies based on accommodation, transportation, food, and leisure activities. On average, monthly expenses including rent, utilities, and groceries range from approximately $600 (USD) €600 (EUR) $950 (AUD). Additional costs may apply for entertainment and travel.

We ensure you meet the basic requirements for the Japanese Working Holiday Visa and assess your compatibility with the programm. Our aim is to ensure a solid fit for both you and the employer. If the program isn't the right fit, we'll be upfront about it to avoid wasting time and resources.
  • First Payment: Once you're ready to proceed, we'll issue your initial invoice payment of $399(USD).
  • Video Call: We will conduct an interview via phone call. This interactive session helps us understand your preferences and abilities better, guiding you towards suitable job opportunities.
  • Visa Process: We will assist you with the visa process once you're onboard, ensuring a smooth application process.
  • Second Payment: The remaining $500 must be paid within a maximum of two weeks after receiving the visa confirmation.
  • Job Interview: We'll arrange a one-on-one online Interview with your prospective employer.
  • Job Contract: Successful applicants will receive job offers confirming their interview success and job contract for the season.
  • Job Role and Start Date: Exact job roles and start dates at Japanese ski resorts are typically determined around October. Once we have these details, we'll assist you in booking flights, insurance, and arranging your arrival in Japan.
  • Unsuccessful Applicants: For unsuccessful applicants, secondary interviews may be arranged based on resort availability and applicant suitability. Refunds are considered only after exhausting all employment avenues, and our commitment is to find employment opportunities for all applicants.

Proficiency in Japanese is not a prerequisite for employment; however, possessing some knowledge of the language can prove advantageous and open new employment opportunities.

It is recommended, and sometimes mandatory for travelers from certain countries, to obtain travel insurance. Once in Japan, you can enroll in the National Health Insurance for basic medical coverage.

Accommodating a partner or friend can be challenging but not impossible. We have numerous employers who can accommodate this request. However, for large groups, finding jobs in the same location with shared accommodation is rare and often impossible.

You wake up to the sound of fresh powder calling your name. You grab a quick breakfast, gear up, and hit the slopes for an epic day of skiing or snowboarding. After shredding some gnarly runs, you head back to your cozy staff accommodation for a well-deserved break. Maybe you catch up with your fellow seasonal workers, relax in the onsen (hot spring), or explore the local village. In the evening, you might enjoy a hearty meal with friends, hit up a nearby izakaya (Japanese pub) for some après-ski fun, or simply unwind and get ready to do it all over again tomorrow.
